Safet Kubat

PhD & eco-social development

I am an academic researcher working on socio-ecological transformation, political ecology, and sustainability transitions. My work focuses on the relationships between environmental change, social movements, governance structures, and transformative responses to ecological crises.

I am currently affiliated with the University of Geneva, where my research engages with questions of environmental governance, ecological justice, and socio-ecological transitions, with a regional emphasis on Southeast Europe and comparative international perspectives.

Beyond academia, I am deeply engaged in public initiatives and civil society movements that seek to translate research into practice. I have collaborated with grassroots organizations, international institutions, and policy-oriented platforms, contributing to discussions on environmental justice, ecological democracy, and systemic transformation.

My work is grounded in the conviction that meaningful socio-ecological change requires bridging scientific research, public engagement, and policy practice.
